Ferrari 849 Testarossa
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa is Ferrari's new flagship PHEV supercar, launched in India in March 2026 at ₹10.37 crore. Reviving the iconic Testarossa nameplate in a modern mid-engine hybrid form, it produces a combined 1,050 PS from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 (830 PS) and three electric motors (220 PS). AWD torque vectoring, 400+ kg of active aerodynamic downforce, a 0–100 km/h time of 2.2 seconds, and a 25 km pure EV range make it the most technically advanced road-going Ferrari in history.

Ferrari 849 Testarossa Latest Updates
- •
Ferrari 849 Testarossa officially launched in India on 14 March 2026 at ₹10.37 crore (ex-showroom), replacing the SF90 Stradale as Ferrari's flagship.
- •
The 849 Testarossa is Ferrari's most powerful production car ever, combining 830 PS from the V8 and 220 PS from three electric motors for a 1,050 PS total.
- •
A retractable hardtop Spider variant of the 849 Testarossa is also planned and will be revealed at a later date.
Engine & Hybrid Performance
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa is powered by a heavily reworked 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with three electric motors in a plug-in hybrid setup. The combustion engine alone produces around 830cv, while the electric motors add approximately 220cv, resulting in a combined output of nearly 1050cv (1036bhp).
The hybrid system includes:
Two front-mounted electric motors
One rear electric motor
All-wheel-drive system
8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
Performance figures are extraordinary:
0-100kmph: under 2.3 seconds
0-200kmph: approximately 6 seconds
Top speed: around 330–340kmph
Ferrari has also introduced multiple driving modes including:
eDrive
Hybrid
Performance
Qualify mode
These modes allow the car to balance efficiency, electric driving capability, and maximum performance depending on driving conditions
Battery & Electric Range
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa uses a 6.5kWh to 7.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack depending on specification references. The battery allows limited pure-electric driving capability of approximately 16km to 25km.
The EV mode powers the front axle independently, allowing silent low-speed urban driving while also improving traction and torque vectoring performance.
Aerodynamics & Performance Engineering
Ferrari has significantly improved aerodynamic efficiency compared to the SF90 Stradale. The 849 Testarossa produces approximately 415kg of downforce at 250kmph, thanks to extensive aerodynamic redesigns.
Exterior & Interior Design
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa introduces a bold new design language inspired by:
1970s Ferrari endurance race cars
Ferrari 512S
Modern Ferrari F80 styling
Aeronautical design concepts
Exterior highlights include:
Slim LED headlamps
Aggressive front bumper
Deeply sculpted doors
Large air intakes
Twin-tail rear wing design
Minimalist LED tail lamps

Interior & Cabin Experience
Inside the cabin, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa offers a futuristic driver-focused cockpit with improved ergonomics and tactile controls compared to earlier Ferrari models.
Interior highlights include:
Fully digital instrument cluster
Passenger display screen
New infotainment interface
Physical steering wheel buttons
Carbon-fibre trim
Premium Alcantara upholstery
Sports bucket seats
Ambient lighting
Advanced performance telemetry
Safety & Technology
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa comes equipped with advanced safety and driver assistance technologies including:
ABS Evo braking system
Electronic Stability Control
Traction control
Parking sensors
360-degree camera
Advanced vehicle dynamics software
Adaptive cruise technologies
Collision warning systems
Ferrari’s new FIVE (Ferrari Integrated Vehicle Estimator) system further improves predictive handling and stability management.
How is Ferrari 849 Testarossa
Pros
- •1,050 PS combined output – Ferrari's most powerful road car ever, surpassing the SF90 Stradale it replaces.
- •Three-motor AWD with front-axle torque vectoring (RAC-e) delivers F1-derived handling precision.
- •Active aero generates over 400 kg of downforce at speed – rivalling some dedicated track cars.
- •25 km pure EV range allows near-silent, zero-emission city driving in a 1,050 PS supercar.
Cons
- •At ₹10.37 crore before options, it is among the most expensive cars ever officially sold in India.
- •Deliveries expected only in second half of 2026 – significant waiting period for Indian buyers.
- •The 7.45 kWh battery is relatively small, limiting EV range to 25 km – purely for urban silencing rather than meaningful EV use.
