Q. With 2,000 PS, is the Lotus Evija even driveable on anything other than a professional race track?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Evija features five driving modes: Range, City, Tour, Sport, and Track. In "City" and "Tour" modes, the power is significantly dialed back to make the car manageable and "docile" for regular roads. However, its 2.0-meter width and extreme low profile make it a massive challenge for standard Indian roads. It is a "halo" car meant for private collections and occasional high-speed runs on closed circuits

Q. How does the Evija manage cooling for its massive battery during high-speed runs?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Evija uses a "mid-mounted" battery pack (behind the seats) and four radiators to keep the cells at an optimal temperature. This allows the car to be driven at full "Track" mode for seven minutes straight without any power degradation—a feat most other electric cars cannot achieve. In the Indian heat, this advanced thermal management is critical for protecting the battery's longevity

Q. Why are there no "door mirrors" on the Lotus Evija?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
To minimize drag, the Evija uses cameras that pop out from the front wings. The images are displayed on screens inside the cabin. While this is cutting-edge, it takes some getting used to in "high-density" Indian traffic where glancing at mirrors is a constant reflex. The lack of physical mirrors also helps the car fit through slightly narrower gaps (theoretically)

Q. What is the significance of the "Venturi Tunnels" in the Evija's rear design?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The rear of the Evija is essentially a giant set of "holes" that allow air to pass through the body. This creates massive downforce without the need for a traditional, heavy rear wing. It also allows you to see right through the car from the back, showing off the inboard suspension components—it’s a piece of "functional art" that defines the modern Lotus design language.

Q. How exclusive is the Evija, and can an Indian collector still buy one in 2026?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
Production is strictly limited to 130 units globally, honoring the Lotus "Type 130" designation. Most have been spoken for by collectors worldwide. For an Indian buyer, acquiring one would likely involve the secondary market or a high-level allocation from Lotus's bespoke "Mulliner-style" division. It is the ultimate statement of "the future of performance" for any serious car collection.
