Hyundai Creta Electric Battery and Performance
The 51.4kWh battery pack on the Creta Electric sends power to a front axle-mounted electric motor, making 169bhp and 255Nm of torque.
For mannered driving, the long-range Hyundai Creta Electric can go 473km on a single charge (MIDC-claimed). On the more fun side, it can go from zero to 100kmph in just 7.9 seconds.
It is offered with three driving modes, Eco, Normal, and Sport. The Eco mode provides the highest range, while the Sport mode increases the SUV’s power delivery and responsiveness.

The 50kW DC fast charger can charge its battery from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 58 minutes, while the 11kW fast AC home charger takes 4 hours and 50 minutes to juice it up from 10 per cent to 100 per cent.
The V2L (Vehicle to Load) feature (available only in the Excellence trim) lets users power their appliances inside and outside the SUV, like a mobile power source. For outdoor usage, a V2L connector gun is available as a payable accessory.

This power configuration (51.4kWh) is only available in Smart (O) and Excellence trims of the Hyundai Creta Electric.

Q. Is the Hyundai Creta EV price in India competitive enough to justify going electric over a diesel Creta?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
At ₹17–23 lakh, the Creta EV is a ₹4–6 lakh premium over a diesel Creta, but the running cost drops to ₹1–1.5 per km (vs ₹5–6 for diesel) — meaning the cost gap closes within 4–5 years for drivers covering 15,000+ km annually. FAME and state subsidies further improve the math in many cities. If you have a home charger and cover significant daily distances, the EV makes compelling financial sense.

Q. What is the real-world range of the Creta EV in Indian conditions, and how much does AC use affect it?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Creta EV's 51.4 kWh battery claims 473 km ARAI range, but real-world use in mixed city and highway conditions yields 350–400 km — still very usable. Running the AC continuously in peak summer reduces range by 12–18%, dropping it to around 300–330 km in extreme conditions. For daily city commutes under 60 km, this is comfortably a 5–6 day range on a single charge with a home charger.

Q. How does the Creta EV feel to drive compared to its petrol sibling — is the instant torque noticeable in daily use?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Creta EV's electric motor delivers 167 bhp and instant torque that makes city traffic effortless — overtaking and merging feel almost effortless compared to any petrol Creta. The three drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) meaningfully change the character: Sport mode feels genuinely quick, while Eco stretches range noticeably. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature is a bonus that makes it handy for camping or power outages.

Q. Creta EV vs Tata Nexon EV — which electric SUV should a first-time EV buyer in India go with?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Nexon EV has a head start on charging infrastructure familiarity and a ₹2–3 lakh lower price, but the Creta EV pulls ahead on range, interior quality, and feature set — particularly ADAS and connected tech. Hyundai's EV after-sales readiness has improved significantly, though Tata still has more EV-trained technicians nationally. First-time EV buyers who prioritise range confidence and feature richness will prefer the Creta EV.

Q. Are home charging setup costs and battery longevity real concerns for Creta EV ownership in India? Home charger installation (7.2 kW AC) costs ₹15,000–₹25,000 as a one-time setup and fully charges the Creta EV overnight — most apartment societies now permit this. Battery warranty is 8 years/160,000 km, which covers the most critical ownership period. The real-world battery degradation rate is under 5% in the first three years based on Hyundai EV global data, making long-term ownership predictable and low-anxiety.
