The Maruti Suzuki XL6 is powered by a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that produces up to 102 bhp and 136 Nm of torque. It is offered with a five-speed manual gearbox as well as a six-speed automatic (torque converter), providing a balance of performance and convenience. A CNG variant is also available with the manual transmission, though it delivers slightly lower power output.

The engine is known for its refinement, remaining smooth and vibration-free at idle. It offers a comfortable driving experience with seamless gear shifts, delivering adequate low-end performance and becoming more responsive beyond 2,000 rpm.
