The Wagon R served Maruti loyally through two generations from 1999–2026. Its K10B engine was among the most reliable, low-maintenance small engines in India.

The 1.0-litre DualJet petrol engine produces 66 bhp power and around 89–91 Nm torque, offering a smooth and fuel-efficient driving experience. It also comes with an Idle Start-Stop (ISS) feature, which helps save fuel by automatically turning off the engine when the car is idle.

You can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT (Auto Gear Shift) for a more convenient driving experience, especially in city traffic. However, this engine option is available only in the LXi and VXi variants.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the car performs well across all options. The manual petrol variant offers up to 24.35 kmpl, while the AMT version delivers up to 25.19 kmpl. If you opt for CNG, you can get an impressive 33.47 km/kg, making it one of the most fuel-efficient choices in its segment.

Getting in and out of the car is very easy thanks to its wide-opening doors and comfortable seat height. The driver also benefits from good outward visibility, and important controls like the infotainment system and air-conditioning are placed in a convenient, easy-to-reach position.

The rear seat cushioning is a bit too soft, which may reduce comfort during long journeys, although the overall seat shape is still supportive.
