- •
The 2nd Gen Amaze continues to be sold alongside the new 3rd Gen model for buyers seeking a budget Honda sedan.
- •
Only available in 2 variants (S MT and S CVT) at revised entry-level pricing starting ₹6.98 lakh.
Honda Amaze 2nd Gen Engine and Performance
The Honda Amaze 2nd Generation is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 89 bhp and 110 Nm of torque.
It is available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission.
The manual variant delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.6 km/l, while the CVT automatic returns around 18.3 km/l.
The driving range also varies slightly depending on the transmission, offering approximately 651 km for the manual and around 641 km for the automatic variant.
Honda Amaze 2nd Gen Convenience and Technology
5 USP Features of the Honda Amaze:
Big boot - The biggest USP of a sedan is a big and spacious boot. And, the Amaze also gets a 420 litre boot capacity.
Adjustable front headrests - Unlike the previous model of the Amaze that had fixed headrests, the latest iteration gets adjustable ones in the front row – for both driver and passenger.
AT gets paddle shifters - The paddle shifters offered with the seven-step CVT give you that extra control and engagement.
Honda connectivity - Honda has its own connectivity app named 'Honda Connect' for owners to get updates not just about the Amaze but also other information from the brand including service, offers, spares, etc.
10-year warranty - Honda offers an anytime 10-year warranty on the Amaze which is a first in the industry. It's also transferable to the next owner of the car.
Features Missing:
The Honda Amaze isn't very tech-savvy and misses out on a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charger, air purifier, ambient lighting, and sunroof.
Also, the analogue-digital instrument cluster looks outdated in a day and age when everyone has moved to fully digital displays.
Honda Amaze 2nd Gen Safety
The Honda Amaze comes equipped with a standard set of safety features but does not offer advanced systems like ADAS or other segment-leading innovations.
Across all variants, it includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors as part of its core safety package.
Higher variants additionally offer a rear-view camera for improved parking assistance and visibility.
While there are no updated crash test results available for the latest model, an earlier India-made (South Africa-spec) Honda Amaze with two airbags had received a 4-star rating for adult occupant protection and 1-star for child safety, with its body shell and footwell area rated as stable.
Honda Amaze 2nd Gen Interior and Exterior Styling
The Honda Amaze features a dual-tone beige and black interior theme across all variants, giving the cabin a light and airy feel.
Most variants come with silver accent inserts on the dashboard, while the base E variant gets ivory-coloured interior accents instead.
The Amaze is offered only with fabric seat upholstery across all trims, including the top-end variant, with no option for leatherette seats, which limits the overall premium feel of the cabin.
