INTERIOR DESIGN.
M Sport Seats for Driver and Front Passenger.
The M Sport seats with integrated headrests, deep sitting surface and high side and backrest bolsters offer the driver and front passenger improved support, even in fast turns. In addition, the driver's seat and, depending on the equipment, the front passenger seat can be adjusted to your individual body dimensions thanks to the integrated backrest width adjustment.
Ambient Light.
Ambient light creates a relaxed, cosy lighting atmosphere in the interior. There are eleven predefined light designs available in six different colours, with contour and ambient lighting on the instrument panel, door trim and centre console.
Harman Kardon Surround Sound System (Optional).
The outstanding Harman Kardon Surround Sound System features a 408-watt digital amplifier, seven channels and twelve speakers. Its sophisticated sound perfectly fills the interior space. Vehicle-specific, speed-dependent equalising precisely compensates for any background driving noise.
DRIVING DYNAMICS.
M Sport Differential.
The M sport differential optimises traction and driving stability when changing lanes or accelerating out of a bend, when taking bends at high speeds or on different road surfaces. Traction is optimised with the help of an electronically operated device that reduces the difference in revolution speed between the rear wheels.
M Sport Braking System.
The M Sport brake has four-piston fixed callipers at the front and single-piston floating callipers at the rear in blue with the M designation and features large brake discs to ensure an outstanding braking performance.
Variable Sport Steering.
The variable sport steering with Servotronic creates a direct and agile steering response and ensures that less physical effort is required to turn the wheel. It reacts to the angle of the steering wheel with varying steering ratios. This improves handling when driving more dynamically and reduces the effort needed to steer when parking and turning.
TECH & CONNECTIVITY.
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
Wouldn't it be incredible if your BMW was also your personal vehicle expert? Communicate with your vehicle using the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Say natural commands to operate numerous vehicle functions. It can also explain topics about your vehicle and helps you to get to know your BMW even better.
BMW Operating System 7.
The innovative operating concept of the BMW Operating System 7 enables even easier operation of vehicle functions via e.g. speech, touch screen and iDrive control – very intuitively. For this purpose, the functionality of the Controller has been upgraded. So now the apps menu can be selected directly.
BMW Head-Up Display (Optional).
The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects information relevant to the journey directly into the driver's field of vision, thereby allowing them to fully concentrate on driving. Information such as the current speed and, depending on the equipment, navigation directions.

Q. At the BMW Z4 price in India, does it offer a genuinely different sports car experience from the Porsche 718 Boxster or is the Porsche a clearly superior choice?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Z4 and 718 Boxster are fundamentally different — the Boxster is mid-engined, more technically pure, and the cleaner driver's car; the Z4 is front-engined, more powerful in higher variants, and more grand-touring in character. The Z4 is more comfortable, quieter at highway speeds, and more usable as a daily driver. For weekend mountain passes and driving enjoyment, the Boxster edges ahead technically; for GT driving and occasional track days, the Z4's B58 engine and torque make it deeply satisfying. The choice is about what kind of sports car pleasure matters most

Q. As a daily driver in Pune or Bengaluru, can the Z4 cope with Indian road realities — speed bumps, potholes, and heavy traffic — without constant frustration?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Z4's variable damping in comfort mode is genuinely liveable for Indian urban use — more so than the stiffer 718 Boxster. The front nose approach angle on speed bumps requires careful technique (diagonal approach), and deep potholes at speed transmit sharply. Low-speed city crawling is manageable, and the powered soft-top makes quick open/closed transitions easy in sudden rain. The Z4 is more India-appropriate than its sports car DNA suggests, though daily use in heavy traffic eventually makes the sports car compromises feel cumulative.
By SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
Q. Does the Z4's 3.0-litre straight-six (M40i) sound and feel significantly better than the 2.0 sDrive20i in real-world Indian driving — is the upgrade worth the price difference?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The M40i upgrade is transformative — the B58 straight-six's 340 PS versus the B48 four-cylinder's 197 PS is a character difference as much as a performance one. The six's exhaust note, throttle response, and torque delivery fundamentally change the driving experience from competent-and-pleasant to properly exciting. On India's expressways and mountain passes, the M40i feels effortless where the 20i needs to work. If you're buying a sports car, the M40i is the one that fulfils the promise; the 20i is the practical compromise version.

Q. Should an Indian buyer choosing a Z4 consider using it as a second car exclusively, or can it serve as a primary daily driver in a metro city?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
The Z4 can work as a primary car in Bengaluru or Pune — practical enough for solo daily commuting, comfortable on the expressway, and the soft-top handles Indian rain effectively once closed promptly. The compromises (minimal boot, no rear seat, visibility limitations in traffic) are manageable for a young professional or couple. However, for anyone who regularly carries colleagues, family, or significant cargo, the Z4 quickly reveals its one-trick nature. For true daily primary use, the Z4 asks for lifestyle adaptation; as a second car, it's perfectly suited.

Q. What is the post-warranty annual ownership cost for a BMW Z4 in India, and are there any roadster-specific maintenance concerns?
SIX BUY AND SELL TEAM • Apr 2026
Annual BMW ASS service runs ₹40,000–₹70,000; the B58 engine is reliable with proper oil change discipline. The soft-top mechanism is the Z4's most unique maintenance item — hydraulic roof actuator service every 3–4 years (₹20,000–₹40,000) keeps operation smooth. Tyre wear on performance compounds is higher (245/265 section sets at ₹80,000–₹1,20,000). Insurance on a new Z4: ₹2,00,000–₹3,00,000 annually. Total annual budget: ₹80,000–₹1,50,000. The Z4 is actually one of the more modestly expensive BMWs to maintain — simpler than the SUVs and without air suspension complexity.
